Who are Rainbows?
Rainbows welcomes all girls from 4 to 7 years old for play, learning and tons of fun in a colourful, safe space.
She’ll laugh, sing and make a happy mess (and help clear it up!) as she chooses her way through our programme of activities. She’ll have plenty of magic moments: she might become a time traveller, an animal tracker, a pop singer, a stargazer. It’s a wonderful world of adventure, week after week, just for her.

Activities
Rainbows follow our programme. In unit meetings, they do fun activities, play games and earn skills builder badges, all while being supported by our trained volunteers.
Your child could get skills builder badges in themes such as camping, communication and first aid. And if she wants to take guiding home, there’s lots of interest badges to do in between unit meetings, like the book lover badge, construction badge and helper badge.
Discover all the badges Rainbows can earn.
And as well as going to events planned locally and by her unit, she could also go to our fun-filled, circus-themed extravaganza, Magic and Mayhem and make friends from around the UK.
Promise
All Girlguiding members are invited to make the same promise.
“I promise that I will do my best, to be true to myself and develop my beliefs, to serve the King and my community, to help other people and to keep the (Brownie) Guide law.”
We do have a shorter version for our youngest group, Rainbows.
“I promise that I will do my best to think about my beliefs and to be kind and helpful.”
Uniform
We encourage members to wear a uniform to show they’re part of the Girlguiding family. Rainbows wear a Red top and a pair of bottoms.
Where does that Badge go?
Badges can be attached to her uniform – the promise badge, which she’ll get after making her Rainbow promise, should be on the left-hand side and all other badges can be attached where she chooses.
How you can Support Us?
We know everyone has a skill, hobby or interest we can use at Scouts and anytime you can offer to help out is awesome. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like, we’re super flexible.
Interested?
Speak to one of the leaders about the different tasks we need support with at each meeting. If you could help us out once or twice a term, it’ll make a big difference.
